C2 and Linking London

The Client

Linking London is a network of education partners made up of small adult focused organisations through to large further education colleges and research intensive universities. Established in 2006, Linking London’s aim is to improve and create opportunities for vocational learners, who want to progress into and through Higher Education.

The Challenge

C2 was approached by Linking London to provide career transition support to the team made of 8. The team’s background was a mixture of experiences, both within education and the private sector and individuals were at different stages of their career.

Our Approach

C2 Career Consultant, Saiyada Smith worked closely with the Director Sue Betts at Linking London to understand the needs of the team. C2 identified a consistent theme within the team of ‘feeling out of step’ with the job market and wanted support with all aspects of job hunting from understanding how to write a CV to building confidence with interviews.

C2 delivered a half day workshop focusing on supporting the team with:

  • Reviewing their previous experience and identifying transferable skills.
  • Understanding how to present skills and experiences on CV and application forms
  • Gaining hands on practice to answer typical interview questions along with strategies on how to succeed in an interview.

The Linking London team were additionally given the opportunity to meet 1:1 with C2 careers consultants to discuss their individual situation.

Feedback from the Client

“Thank you for a very informative workshop. I felt you really understood Linking London and the needs of my team to deliver a targeted session”. Sue Betts, Director – Linking London.
